Showboat
How it works

We redesigned this page with Showboat. Here's every step.

Your agent shows its work before it ships. Your team circles what's off. It fixes it.

MADE WITH SHOWBOAT

We build Showboat with Showboat. Every screen below is from this site's own redesign, captured by the agents that built it.

We don't have nice screenshots yet.
Erik, founder Ruling on the Sketch “Landing hero” · why the hero kept its drawing

That was the old hero. This page is the screenshots: one redesign, every step in order, in the words people really wrote.

First, we voted on the design.

Before the drawing was built, our coding agents pushed three competing live mockups of it: a drawing of where the work piles up. Erik voted for The Jam on every decision, and circled what wasn't working yet.

Then the agent showed its work.

The agent ran the page on a local build, walked it, and pushed a walkthrough: ten Shots, desktop and phone, each with a headline and a narration of what is on screen. This is Take 1. Nothing had shipped yet.

Hmm, this doesn't quite capture the essence of what showboat is solving. We should think about it from a value-stream point of view - engineers got MUCH faster, but the Product / UX teams typically do not show the same productivity increase. This means the bottleneck shifts away from engineers.

IF we could make Showboat's value-add visual and interactive, I think that would help a lot.

Erik circled what was off.

Four Comments in eight minutes, each drawn right on the screen it is about. No meeting, no ticket.

Circle 3: It should be about shipped/week and how much was not properly reviewed. The counters should be "LIVE" counters given the interactive value-stream we discussed in screenshot 1
Erik, founder Comment on Take 1 · the numbers strip, on a phone · 4 Oct
Circle 4: The interactive value-stream should have a section on how everyone is now keeping up with the engineers. That's the place to add a section with references to Shows, Newsreel, Sketches and Like-for-like.

44 minutes later, a new hero.

Take 2 landed 44 minutes after Erik's first circle, with a new headline that thinks in value-stream terms, the way circle 1 asked.

The hero of showboat.dev: Your engineers got 10x faster. Everything around them didn't.

A smaller question got its own Sketch.

How do you get a visitor to try the next moment of the drawing? Three mockups, one vote, and one more circle from Erik.

I would like 'THEN?" to say - "Click me!" or something like it

Take 3 answered every Comment.

The drawing went live under the hero. Its counters run off the drawing as it moves (circle 3), and its last moment is everyone keeping up, with each product named where it helps (circle 4). Take 3 marks each Shot that answers a Comment.

The Jam at moment 2, agents arrive: live counters 15 shipped a week, 1 shipped blind, 6 slowed down.

Then we checked the sign-in door against the site.

The sign-in door had to look like this site. An agent measured both, screen by screen: five differences. It fixed them, measured again, and now all five are equal. One target we disputed: it had been measured against the wrong caption.
